Sazhin ‘s Book

At the initiative of JSC Giredmet, a collection of scientific works by the outstanding metallurgist and academician Nikolai Petrovich Sazhin «Giredmet: yesterday, today, tomorrow» was published. The collection contains a selection of his scientific works, articles and manuscripts.

Nikolai Petrovich is rightfully considered the founder of the school of materials science in Giredmet, to which he devoted more than 40 years of his working life. He made a huge contribution to the formation and development of technologies for the production of antimony, titanium, niobium, zirconium, indium, germanium, high-purity elements, as well as semiconductor materials.

«Possessing great scientific erudition, Nikolai Petrovich Sazhin pursued a technical policy that allowed the institute to fulfill the tasks of the Government of the country in a short time to organize new productions of the high-tech rare metal industry. His scientific leadership ensured the highest efficiency and a special atmosphere in Giredmet, characterized by creative search and human warmth,» said Andrey Goliney, Director of JSC Giredmet, in the preface to the publication.

The publication of the collection is timed to the 90th anniversary of the formation of the Scientific Institute of the Rare metal Industry. In addition, at the initiative of the management, this year JSC «Giredmet» was named after Academician Nikolai Petrovich Sazhin.

Employees of JSC Giredmet are regular reviewers and members of the editorial boards of the following journals: Journal of Luminescence, Optical Materials, Journal of Chemical Sciences, Journal of Molecular Structure, Russian Microelectronics, Biomaterials Science, Sensors, Modern Electronic Materials, Environmental Pollution, Materials of Electronic Technology (News of Higher Educational Institutions), Russian Nanotechnology, Nanoindustry, Solid state physics, electrochemistry; proceedings of universities: non-ferrous metallurgy; alternative energy and ecology, etc.

Patent and licensing activities of the Institute

In 2021, 4 know-how solutions were issued, 3 patent applications for inventions of the Russian Federation were created. The service results of intellectual activity were created during the execution of state contracts within the framework of the unified sectoral thematic plan of the Rosatom State Corporation.

As of 01.01.2022, the Institute supports 108 intellectual property objects, including 54 patents for invention, 1 patent for utility model, 52 know-how and one certificate of state registration of a computer program.
